    40000 fish people!!!

Ok, I am planning on creating a custom army, sort of water dwelling humans that have fins and gills, and will probably look kind of sharky. You can check out my thread for their fluff and rules in the rules development section. (Codex: Atlanteans) I'm trying to figure out how to convert their basic troops, which have relatively weak armor, spearguns and some sort of helmet that allows them to breathe out of water. I was thinking of using a few Tau bitz and pieces, because they have that steamlined look to them.

Any ideas you have are welcome.

    Sounds...interesting. Cool, but strange.
Anyways, for heads, I'd use bare Tau heads. They would fit the whole 'humans evolved for water' look, IMO. Try modelling Rebreathers on them, or just use Marine Rebreather heads.

As for spearguns, you could use Lizardmen blowpipes and combine them with Lasguns or something, cutting speartips from plasticard or somesuch.

For the armour, I'd go with Eldar bodies. Sleek, streamlined, and with almost no armour.

Ok, thanks. After I get my full army list done, I'll make up a few fish-people and post them. Any help developing rules is welcome.

well, it may be a bit late for this suggestion, but for the heads you could chop the heads off of skinks and use those if you are going to be using the spears anyway.

No, it's not too late. Thanx for that. However, I'm trying to find a better suit of armor other than eldar. They have a 6+ save.

Just because you're using Eldar doesn't mean you have to keep their saves. Hell, the Steel Legion wears trenchcoats for armour, and get a 5+ save. You could reasonably call it a 5+. That, or say they carry shield generator things that give them a save.

Or you could have them wear cloaks made from the scaly hides of super tough sea monsters. Some people might find it hard to believe that their skin offers them a 5+ save vs. guns.

i got another idea write in the fluff that, the fish people discovered a special substance on the bottom of the ocean floor, that its hard enough to stop most bullets, or they stole their armour when they raided a platoon of imperial guards

maybe they dont have a good save but they are so slippery they have a 5+ inv? or maybe 6+ like harlies but are imune to flamers? or they do dub wounds
I really can't think of anything witty to say.
