Welcome to Librarium Online!
for my witch hunters army, im planning to give all my SoB vets to hold power maces.
i will clip off the chain sword and try and get a paper clip and cut bits out of it to make the handle of the mace, then use green stuff to make the head of the mace. the problem is how do i make it into a power mace?
What do you mean? As long as it isn't a chainsword it'll generally be considered a power weapon. If you want to distinguish them, make little green stuff cables leading into their armor or backpacks, or maybe paint little lightning bolts on the mace heads or something.
Well, Chaos Terminators have Power Mace arms-you could either look to them for ideas, or just buy a bunch and clip the maces off and attach them to the SoB arms.
Also, a paperclip will be both way too thin and way too flimsy. Go to your hardware store and get some 1/8th inch metal wire, the same stuff people use to pin thing on models.
Burn the land and boil the sea. You can't take the sky from me.

Mech Tau Cadre: 2000 points, needs paint and magnets.
Paladins of Avalon (SW):-1500 points, needs paint.
I use paper clips to pin things on models ^_^ .
well... all power weapons tend to have some kinda 'box'/battery thingy, then some kind of cord/cable that goes out from the box/battery.
Paper clips are fine I guess, I just tend to use stronger rods, like brass rods, which you can get in various sizes at DIY stores and hardware stores.
As for putting the power in the mace, look at the new plastic terminators, the cable thingy on the power sword arm, snip off one like that, and attach it to the arm. There is no need to actually make a cabla go from the weapon to something else, that can often make it look like a weapon chain, like the old knights had, for not dropping their weapon on horseback. Instead just put it on the arm, like on the lower arm, over the elbow and into the upper arm (on the underside of the arm) or even lower arm to backpack. Just try it out, and if all else fails, painting tha mace head in shimmering blue tones never fails
You could even take the sparkers out of barbeque lighters and insert them into the heads of the maces so that, every time you press down on one, sparks shoot out at your enemies. That's what I'd do. Shock those bastards.
