All the necrons I've seen are drybrushed boltgun, (tin bitz undercoat then boltgun if I'm lucky but I want to do something different. I looked in the codex and saw some "ceramic necrons". I painted a few but they just don't look as "right" as a metalic necron. The ones I painted were the shadow grey necrons, (second from the left in the ceramics section of the codex.) Anyone got any ideas for a non-metallic necron?
space wolves gray ones with black looks pretty good.
P.S. did you put a layer of gloss 'ard coat on the ceramics that may be why it didnt look right.
"They shall all taste OBLIVION!,.....which tastes like Red Bull, which is disgusting."
Some of the red ceramic colors look pretty good. I would suggest just looking through the codex and mixing and matching to find out what looks good to you.
I quite like the white/black stormtrooper look.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
You can make them look like skeletons, metal skeletons. Use skull white and mix some black then fade with some kind of grey. Looks awesome and its an easy way that dosnt need great painting skills.
MEAT IS MURDER
A friend of mine has painted his necrons Regal Blue, with some Warlock purple details. I must say it doesn't look bad at all... I'll see if I can get a pic.
