Welcome to Librarium Online!
Read the story first, *please*. It's not that long, and it should take away some of the 'wtf'ery of the picture. For purposes of the story, Radical Inquisitor Valorum is going to be a head figure of my abhuman IG army, with allied Radical Daemonhunters. Valorum is all into researching mutants and stuff, and came to the realization that Space Marines, the supposed right hand of the Emperor himself, are anything but human themselves. He's basically advocating mutant rights. Which is why he was made Excommunicatus.
Radical Inquisitor Valorum approached the huge figure sitting by the campfire. It was at least as big as an orc, and its armor looked just as scratch-built. A similar-looking, but slightly more diminuitive mutant walked alongside Valorum.
"'E used to be a slave miner, just like the rest of us. Didn't really talk to anyone, noone knew his name. But then there was a cave-in, that he got caught up in. We all figured 'e was dead, but 'e crawled out of the rubble 'bout four hours after. 'Nyways, when we started r'volting, 'e was one of our big soldier types. I think the cave-in scrambled 'is brain a bit, 'cause 'e never spoke again... "
"That will be enough," Valorum said. He crouched by the campfire, and looked at the huge behemoth that sat before him. It was looking into the fire, as if entranced. A huge backpack lay at its side, with two huge tanks that, Valorum figured, held some sort of fuel for the weapon that it was attached to. It looked like a heavy flamer of some kind, but it had what looked like a lasgun of some sort attached to the top of it...
It was hard to pick anything out in the darkness of night, but Valorum could tell it was built from scratch, using spare parts of all kinds.
"What is your name?" asked Valorum.
The giant said nothing, the only noise coming from it was a raspy breathing. It pointed at the fire.
"We call 'im Pyro, sir," quipped the mutant who was still standing by Valorum.
Pyro nodded, and then reached over and drew an '-I-' into the dirt.
"You're an inquisitor?" asked Valorum skeptically.
"Well, sir, I can explain," said the guide, "An 'quisitor came with some soldiers, and tried to, you know, stop us. Pyro here killed 'em. And now 'e figures that 'e's a 'quisitor now."
Pyro only nodded, and made the sign of the Aquila with his huge hands. Valorum smiled.
"Well, I'm Inquisitor Valorum, and I'm here to help set your people free."
Only then did Valorum notice that the fire was going out. Pyro took a log from a pile beside him, and put it on the fire. He reached over to his weapon, aimed it at the fire, and pulled a trigger. The fire was roaring again in a second.
"So, Inquisitor Pyro, do you mind if I sit here with you for a while?"
Pyro only nodded.
Basically, if you didn't get the story, Pyro is a simpleminded abhuman who has total faith in the Emperor. Having killed an Inquisitor who came to stop the rebellion of his people (who were enslaved and made to mine), he took the title and made himself an Inquisitor.
'Inquisitor' Pyro: 91 points
Ordo Malleus Inquisitor: 20 pts + wargear
-Artificer Armor (self-crafted)
-Refractor Field (psychic energy: he's a psyker)
-Bionics (representing his innate toughness)
-Laspistol (modified and attached to incincerator)
-Hammerhand Psychic Power (yes, he's a psyker)
And the picture (finally):
-Dark Angels Standard Bearer Backpack
-2x Cadian Flamers
-2x Space Marine Shoulder pads
-Cadian flamer backpack
-2x ork topknots
-Catachan flamer fuel can
-High elf trumpet streamers
The backpack isn't shown, but I will scan it later, it's pretty cool.
Looks pretty cool and I like the backstory too.
What colours you thinking of painting him?
Shas'o Sa'cea Mont'yr Tolka Ket'ra - Commander Warhawk
Commander of the 115th Expeditionary Force of Sa'cea
Metals are all rusted, fabrics will be brown. I actually changed the standard, added a high elf crossbar and mangled two of their banners. I also detached the arm for painting purposes. Here's another scan..
Here we go.

It doesn't look terrible, though the story is better than the model :p
Bah! It's the first real intensive conversion I've done (i.e taken over 30 minutes), and it's the first model I've built from scratch.
Anything that I could add to it to make it better?
I like the mini. Good conversion work. I'm not so keen on the paint though. He looks more like a servitor than a boss. Just a bit more grungy, gritty, and oily than I like my inqs, but if your retinue matches, good enough.
I do have a question though: What's the point of the laspistol? Hammerhand prohibits CC weapons and I can't think of a situation where you'd be better off firing the las than the incinerator.

Well, incinerator has a 7" range: a laspistol would give him an extra 5".
I, however, changed the armory setup a bit. I removed the laspistol entirely, because I realized that in real life, the laspistol attachment would be melted. I'll either put him in with another squad for maxium awesome, or give him a familiar & scourging, a heirophant, and a warrior and send him off on his own. However, his survivability in this role is pretty bad. Got routed and chased down by my brother's warp spiders. ()
Also, the paint job is only started. I added bestial brown (evident in the scan), washed vermin brown, did the standard, purity seals on the gun, and the loincloth in bleached bone (left brown showing through in standard), and washed exposed flesh with tanned flesh. Much more work to follow.
The metals are going to be rusted, and stuff. I need a symbol for him - I'm thinking of just doing a sloppy -I-.
Also, do you think that the model could pass as having terminator armor?
But the Incinerator is also an assault weapon. I'd rather run up and use the incinerator, even if it only covers one model, than fire the laspistol.
What if the target is a little out of range, or you don't want to risk it?
Anyways, I dropped the laspistol, so yeah.
