I am a noob - never painted any minis but I want mine to look like Golden demon with as little work as possible

Can someone give me an idea of what I would need to do the "Old one eye" from the Tyranid Army its the color scheme found in codex and on the box for OldOne Eye. He is black with white claws and yellow and red highlights. I wasnt sure if I should prime white or black? priming white would give me brighter reds and yellows.

Let me know what you would recommend. for steps of paints

I would prime white, because it is (near) impossible to paint white on black, but pretty easy to paint black on white.

Yeah, if you are a n00b at painting then I don't think you should expect to be able to paint Golden Demon quality.

    W/D/L

Dwarfs 1/0/0 (Reset due to new rules)

Space Marines 0/0/0 (still under construction)

The most important thing for good looking mini's is, that you go for detail, even if that takes time. You could do some details, but not all.

But then again, if you find your mini's good looking, then they are. don't mind what other people think about them, just make sure you like them. And ofcourse keep practising, and start on the cheap mini's so that if you ruin them you dont loose too much money

    --for the greater good--

Eh, I sucked when I started, then applied some basic concepts, and low and behold, 3 months later I'm painting at the top of my age group! It comes with time (and taking advice).
