Hey, I just bought two squads of Assault marines and I'm looking to use them to create a new chapter that i just started..
I only have 6 marines started for this new chapter but so far each one has turned out great with custom conversions on each model, What kind of conversions can i do for these ten assault marines besides just posing their feet differently or using flight bases insead. I thought about cutting out foam rocks but this would add an inch to their height and I don't feel like making them more vunerable to fire.
Any thoughts, suggestions or pics welcome
Just because they're standing on a rock doesn't make them any more of a target in game terms, so don't worry about that.Originally Posted by Cosmic_mad_hatter42
Some details as to what your custom Chapter is might help (name maybe? customs, etc).

sorry about the lousy pics...these are 5 guys plus my radical inquistor...ill try and get a better camera
Assuming it's a digital camera, learn to use the macro setting. If you don't know what that is look through any manuals or documentation.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
grrr...can't work the macro keys
How about swooping hawks wings on the guys (with jump packs too). That might be good. Then add some gold on the trim, and use the blue on other patrs. Also, use a Dark angel Vet Sarge for the Sarge.
Where's your Baritone Saxophone?
I could see that wing thing on your marines if you used them with your GK army. You should take a picture of your Grand Master too. I have a good digital camera, so next time we play, I'll bring it, and we will have a nice photo shoot lol.
I wish I could see that hero up close.
We gotta set a time to play again.
You Can't Stop the Eighp
Had Tzeentch before I knew how to play :P
I have one 5-man assault squad that I did just as a display unit. I don't play marines, but I really like the assault minis.
They're built but not painted (story of my collection). What I did with them was I built the Sgt. flatfooted (used regular marine legs and the assault torso). Then I built two with the regular assault legs, up on tip-toes like they're landing. Then I did the last two on some flying bases left over from my Tau bits.
The Sgt. has the bolt pistol pointing up (90 degree elbow arm) and an auspex in the other hand, like he's the point man checking out the area, while the rest of the squad is in the process of landing behind him.
Of course, it might not be so good for the table, as it would look lame if you wind up putting the sgt. in the back of the unit.
