I'm still kind of new to 40k and I'm running out of ideas for my DE. So far this is what I've done: Primer black with Blood Red and a red ink wash. Primer white with Dark Angles Green in random spots with many coats of geen ink to get a "tortise shell" look and just plain Dark Angles Green with green ink wash and gold trim.
I'm on a limited budget and don't want to experiment too much on the models. Bright colors don't really appeal to me for the DE; it comes across as a bunch of killer clowns
I'd like to think I'm sort of creative, but I'd love some feedback on colors that you've seen work.
Try Red Gore, Red Gore/Blood Red 1/1, Blood Red, then a wash made of Red Ink/Red Gore mix. For me this works and gives a blood-like effect on the suits. If you do it right, it will actually look like drying blood - all the better for DE.Primer black with Blood Red and a red ink wash
