I have recently just started a dwarf army and I was hoping for some tips on painting them .
Well maybe some more information would be handy? Like -
Beards? - Colours, techinque
You colour scheme?
To give help we need to know more than you need help. But as I'm a nice person...
Beards - Drybrush them. A simple techinque and works wonders with beards and armour such as chainmail. The colours best used are browns, grey and black; I'd leave the reds, blondes and whites until you understand the basics and that first.
Armour - Boltgun metal followed by black ink and a highlight of chainmail works well.
Flesh - Dwarf flesh, flesh wash then a dwarf flesh layer before elf flesh highlights are the usual way.
Scheme? That I can't answer but I suggest either conflicting or complimenting colours - but this you have to figure out for yourself.
Of course the above is only basic, many - myself included - go much deeper with a lot of work going into them. It all depends upon what you want -
Tabletop or Showcase.
also for painting gold do a undercoat of black then shinning gold then a cestnutor brown ink wash followed by a highlight of burnished gold or mithril/chainmel silver depending on how bright you want it.
To do the bidding of the god of decay death and corruption is to be rid of all things that makes you weak only in return for the control of your soul!
Cheers these were very helpful.
