I have considered collecting black templars. However, i want my army to look different to the 'conventional' space marines. Hence i saw the cloaks/robes on some of the crusader models, but noticed that the sprues mean you cant have cloaks on all the crusader models. therefore i will have to convert the ones without cloaks with green stuff.
Just wanted to ask you veteren converters, how do u sculpture cloaks on the bodies of the crusaders/space marines like the crusader (or even sword bretheren) squads????
(also on a side note: do any of u know if i can bit order iron warrior heads within Australia ?. - i dont want to pay high postage costs from UK or US.. ..or any people located from Australia want to sell their iron warrior heads)

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" -Dr. Suess
To make a cloak or tabbard just make a thin (...lacking english word here...like you do when you make pizza-) a flat thing on a piece of plasticfilm let it "dry" for about 30 min, then cut it in the size you wish.
Loosen it from the plastic-the smooth side will be the front- and attach it to the chestpiece. Then use a sculpting tool (wet) to give it some...waves(?) to show that it's made from cloth.
You could always get some craft paper (stuff that's sorta more flexible than normal paper) and soak it in 50/50 pva glue/water, and once it is half dry, mold it to the shape you want. I have no idea if this works, so you may want to test this out on a less important model (an Iron Warrior, perhaps:tongue: )

The glade guard box from the new wood elves are a VERY good source for cloaks, hoods, and the like.
Check out the sprues, very worthwhile just for the cloaks & hoods, there's quite a few there.
I have a librarian with a cloak modeled onto him with green stuff on the GW site...
He was a grey knight termy, might give you some thing to look at while modeling with green stuff ^_^
I try to mold how I would draw it on him.
