The latest, and probably last, converted Carnifex for my revamped Tyranids. He is intended to threaten tanks as he moves up, then become a terror for the infantry when he finally charges into combat. Maybe not the most efficient configuration, but it does have some nice points and when it works, it should work wonderfully.
All that being said, I expect him to usually die from massed lascannon fire before he reaches the enemy.
And more images:
Cool, are you going to post some images when he is finished?
If your done first, you're the winner.
whoaaaaaaaaa, amazing, and i see that the hive fleet moloch has created a style..
Don´t try to hide, i can smell your corruption...
now thats extended carapace.

Nice work on the greenstuff, but whats the exact configuration?
I spotted the venomcannon, Crushing claws and Extended Carapace, but what else does this bad boy have?
I ran into what the gentleman from Hive Fleet Moloch did with the eye and it was the solution to what I had been playing with. I had modeled green stuff over one eye on some shooty warriors I converted (dual devourers, the extra sensory organ was much like the targeting device you see on numerous sci-fi movies - the Marines in "Aliens" graced me with that idea). On a previous conversion I used the old venom cannon feeder ball joint as an extra eye on the side of a barbed strangler. I was not quite happy with either solution and did not want to use the enhanced senses head with the tusks. So, when I saw how the fellow who did all the great work on Moloch used it - wow, it looked perfect.
The tusks are the large spikes from the Fantasy Chaos Galrauch model; I just filed them smooth at the base. Then some slight bending gave them the elephant tusk curves. The long horns off of Imrik's dragon (Fantasy, High Elves) would also work and with less filing. I just have lots of the Galrauch spikes, because I use them to make the tail (I have 3 Carnifexes with the spiked stegosaurus inspired tail) - but do not use the longer spikes.
Garthim's stats look like this:
Biomorphs: Adrenal Glands (I), Adrenal Glands (WS), Bioplasma, Flesh Hooks, Enhanced Senses, Sym Rippers, Reinforced Chitin, Tail Weapon - Mace, Toxic Miasma, Tusked
Weapons: Venom Cannon and Crushing Claws
Honestly, the reason I modeled on the second carapace was to give me the option of claiming either extended carapace or bonded exoskeleton (the latter is what I use more often). I find that ambiguity is the greatest thing in the world. Making a custom bit of work makes it easy to say that it represents a different biomorph, depending. However, for the most part I think I just did that work on account of liking the effect and wanting to enhance his crablike look.
My normal 2000 point list appears in this thread:

I am slowly getting my army painted. Not too easy with my current situation: Active Duty Marine and two little children.
