Painting Tau Army like Blood Angels

Alright, I have decided to make a Tau Army with commander Farsight, and since he can give my units better close combat skills(not too much), and because they look so cool. I would paint my army as the Blood Angels. I have a guide for everything except for painting Lord Dante.

I want to paint Farsight's Crisis Suit like Lord Dante, but I don't want it to look retarded, does anyone know where I can get a step by step painting guide for his gold self, without having to buy another codex.

I hope people are having fun.

Non Metalic Metals? Well, really what I was looking for is a step by step picture guide those shows you how to paint him, and I could copy those steps on my crisis suit.

dont have a step by step picci guide, but my approach would be:
base coat bonze/brass or any brown metal you like, then layer up through gold to blend with mithril silver. Chestnut ink washes also help

Yeah that would be the best way to do it,NMM gold is abit hard although you could have a crack at it.
    Cheers,

Personaly I think he looks like a fruit. I hate how dante is painted. Who the heck paints guys gold and expects people to like it. But what ever, I think he's the crapy'est paint job GW has done. except the orks done in the 80's and the orange blood angels

But sence you asked, he's painted gold not useing NMM. I think he was primed black and dry brushed burnished gold. Then inked chest nut. Well thats what it looks like. This model was also painted in the early 90's so his paint job isn't as good as they do now.

If I were going to paint Dante, I would paint him white with gold trim on his shoulders and stuff. ormaly honor guard have gold helmets too, I painted mine white with gold trimed shoulder pads.

Sorry, I'm just sceptical on how this is actualy going to turn out and on how the fire warriors look all red. Did you even paint their cloth areas another color? other than red?

Firewarriors = Armor is painted like Blood Angels Armor (Blood Red, Chestnut Ink, and Red Ink), the cloths underneath are Chaos Black, and the Boots and Gloves are Chaos Black/Blood Red. The shields are Golden Yellow/Bad Moon Yellow, as well as the Shas'ui's Helmates.

I have a picture of him in the 3rd edition rulebook right before me. If it's not NMM then I'm Marneus Calgar. True, that's also the only time I saw NMM on GW models, but that does not make it any less NMM.

It's ok, I really don't care how Dante was painted, I just wanted to know how I could paint gold. Anyways, I've decided to buy some Forge World Models for my Army instead of Farsight, I think I'm going to paint him silver, or white and silver.
I hope people are having fun.
