I love the new skull-headed chaplain. It looks so much better than the older ones. All the new details are so pretty, it makes me happy that I'd never picked up a 'proper' chaplain until today.
Since I wanted to use him in something tomorrow, I sat down and started to work on him. By my count (I live in L.A., and started from scratch, gluing, painting and basing him once NCIS was over), I spent just over three hours working on him.
So, for a three-hour job from start to finish, how does he look?
You should be proud of the paint job, is very neat, over all is good .
ways to improve... work on the shading more, making the transistion smoother, and some more highlighting.
3 hours! thats great for 3 hours.
I especially like the red on the crozius, while an unusual colour for the crozius I think its very well executed.
It also shows me the extra detail model that can't be seen on GW pics. I especially like the feet and the large skull on the left soldier.
good job, you should be proud

For bone, I simply used a base coat of black, followed by a coat of snakebite leather. Then I drybrushed two coats of bleached bone, the first over the still-slightly tacky snakebite, the second to fill it in more. Finally, I lightly drybrushed a thin amount of white over the whole thing, putting more over the facial features. Whole process takes about 15 minutes.Originally Posted by DJ AUN KOR
Geez i could never paint something in 3 hours, yet alone to get it to look that good! Im a very slow painter and i envy you!
He doesnt look to shaby at all,he looks pretty good apart from a few things.First off your highlighting is bad,the lines are too thick and arent straight, so you might want to work on fixing them up.But this is very understandable as you only spent a very short time on him.
Also the places that you drybrushed boltgun metal onto look abit scrapy,i think that it would look better if you painted it on rather than drybrush it,but yet again you went for the quick option.
Some more highlighting in certain places such as the wings on his crozius would also make quite a difference.
PS.By the way i am certainly not trying to be mean or anything,im just being honest and giving some comments and constructive critisism, dont take offense.Like i said it is very good for 3 hours!
its been sad... three houers!! man thats fast. Nice job I love the skull head
3 hours? Thats a little slow would'nt you say?
I love this guy. You've done a beautiful mini proud, have some rep.
