    Canoness Conversion

I was wondering how to model a jump pack on my Canoness. I could use a Seraphim jump pack, but I'd like something cooler, perhaps some sweet angel-like wings :ninja: . I'd also like a really nifty spear or halberd to use for a Blessed Weapon. I have not previously used green stuff or converted models before, but I've been itching to give it a shot. Any sugeestions will be greatly appreciated!

well, for the jump pack, use some random crap, like leftover gun nozzles, especialy flamers and meltas in mind, and make greenstuff wings. wings can be made by making several "feathers" out of greenstuff, and putting them together. remember that its a jump pack, and not real wings, so you can go crazy with wing design here, and dont have to make them so big that they can carry the canonness in air.

for the weapon, look at high elves in WHFB. theyve got some cuddly looking spears. just att seals and chains to make it more 40k.
I'll go out on a wild goose chase here if you don't mind.

I have a friend who put a serephim jumpack on her canoness and it looks good, and another friend of mine who plays deamon hunters put pegasis wings on his grandmaster terminator, which looks amazing. I suggest those pegasis wings if you do go for wings... they look wesome. and it wouldn't take too much GSing to put em on... as for the spear, I have no idea, I'm making my own staves for my Chaos Terminators... And I'm still searching for the right parts...

Usually I find the old and new Canoness models to be too chunky to make the jump pack look good. The old one doesn't have that fur so it isn't as bad as the new one.

So I started with models from the Mordheim range. I'll try get a pic up by tomorrow.

The new canoness is indeed too bulky to look cool with wings and stuff. Here's what I did:
I gave my canoness the jump-pack of my seraphim superior
I gave my seraphim superior a normal backpack with swooping hawk exarch wings. This looks very nice...

I rushed so the lighting is pretty bad but at least the pics are mostly in focus.

On the topic of wings, I prefer Griffon wings like those from the Balthazar Gelt model. I like the way they sweep back down into a 'rest' position. Pegasus wings are still great but I think they suit models in more dynamic assault-marine-style. poses

for a cannoness in flight as it were id use these wings.

as they wont overbalance the model too much, and give that classic angel look to a model.

however i used saint celestian gave her a seraphrim jump pack and removed the dove and put a plasma pistol in there instead and it looks fine.

CBrate, that is a very nice Canoness, I really like how slender and well... femenine(sp?) it is. I really like the hood too.
