Welcome to Librarium Online!
I was thinking that a really cool way to make cybernetic enhancements represented on Imperial Guardsmen would be to use parts of a Necron on a guardsman. They could have whole arms, half a torso, some of their skull etc.
I don't actually plan on doing this, but I think it's a cool idea for anyone who has that doctrine on their IG.
What do you guys think?
I considered this for making some really, er, fanatical Plague Marines that are so infested and rotting that most of their bodies are bionic (i was planning on using a necron base with lots of wiring and green stuff flesh hanging off) but necrons look a bit too smooth for bionics. If you added more wiring it would make for a good conversion. Also, the ribcages would be good on someone who had been ordanized or something.
Nice idea Dr.
They shall be my Imperial Guard and they shall know some fear...
Nice idea, but no one actually takes the Cyber Inhancement doctrine...it's flat out worthless.
Would be good for modelling bionics and/or carapace armor, though...
I would carve out pieces on the Guardsmens arms/head/legs and put small wires in the holes.
Also, as an experienced Gorkamorka player, I know Necrons own when modelling bionics.
I really don't know im looking at one of each now and the necron bits just seem to spindly with the exception of some bits.
But on a whole as an idea it would look very nice as you could have these guys using the grenadier doctrine as well effectively making them adeptus mechanicus techguard.
WARMASTER of the SCHOLA PROGENIUM Alnwick Chapter (soon to be the world)
I'm pretty sure that was the point of the doctrine when it was made. Basically give IG players the ability to fashion their own Skitarii army.
quos deus vult perdere prius dementat
- those whom a god wishes to destroy he first drives mad
Aye, but what the doctrine does is worthless and the cost is high. I would think that you could say it's Cyber Enhancements and count it as Carapace Armor, instead.
