Both, as you can refill the old bottles with new bottles
Right, I personally prefer the old style paint bottles, since you could easily choose the viscosity of the paints. The current bottles have one viscosity that never changes, and it is too thin for my tastes. Also, I find I waste more paint with the new bottles than I ever did with the old ones, as the new paints seem to dry rather quickly when you drip them on a surface, leaving this nice ring of paint, totally wasted. Your thoughts?
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
The old bottles are better, but the new paint covers better IMO. (I have start useing Vallejo my self, love them)
If you're going to use GW paints, buy eyedropper bottles and use those instead, much better than the old paint pot design and they can be refilled too.
If that isn't an option, the old fliptops were better than the new ones.
New. The screw-tops got stuck with paint too many times for me to like them.
New bottles, I tend to agree, are better, if only because they are easier to clean
The screw-top? Thats the bottle he was talking about? I hate those. I thought we was talking of the bottles before that. The one with the flip-top (or what to cal it). :tongue:Originally Posted by the_fifth_horseman
This is a rather odd poll! According to the poll I use old bottles as I haven't bought paint in probably a year.
In all seriousness I am guessing the poll is asking about GW paint specifically though it doesn't state it. I actually use vallejo paints for the reason that GW paint pot design is crap. The old flip tops were better than the screw tops but they broke fairly easy and that is just as much a pain as the screw ons. The number one reason I switched to vallejo paints is I like the eye dropper bottles better. Also I use freely between the model and game colors - so I have most of the GW equivalents as well as numerous other shades.
If you are sticking with GW paints - I too suggest buying empty eye dropper bottles and transferring your paint. The vallejo paints aren't perfect per se but they are a lot better than the GW ones.
That's my opinion and I am sticking with it! :shifty:

The flip-tops are far superior, and seem to last longer. The screw-tops always got stuck and were a pain to open. Eye droppers would be nice, but I have too many GW paints to overhaul now to Vallejo.
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
At the moment I use GW and Vallejo together, its no problem. (as I don’t want to throw away may GW colors. I also have some of the old white flip-top bottles and the paint is still fine.)
