What colors do you use to highlighting black? The greys out there are to light to look good in my opinion. Should I mix grey and black and use that?
Also What color goes well with black and red. I am painting tau and so far I have painted their armor black with the breaks between the plates red ink. Their under suits are grey that has been hightlighted. All I have to do is pick a good color for the guns. Dark blue, blue grey? Bright yellow? I was planning to call them magma warriors.
Any help with either would be cool.

If they are magma warriors, you want to paint them orange. Black with red in the cracks would look good by itself, because it is hard to highlight black. You could just mix a tiny bit of white in with black to make dark grey, though.

For Black highlights, I use dark blue. For red highlighs, I use orange.
