As I still haven't decided on whether I am going to do Dark Eldar or adeptus mechanicus, I am still kind of fartin' around with models. So, for Dark Eldar, I of course would like to use wyches, but don't want to pay 80 US$ for the 20 wyches I have in my army.... Understandable? I was wondering, if there was some plastic miniature that I could use in their place, maybe with a little bit of conversion, that I could say were wyches. Any ideas?

Pssst.... give me kudos....
buy 'em of eBay for $40-$50, then. dark elf witch-fighters are useful, too.
I'm actually not in my sixties. For some obscure reason, my age is set 50 years older than what it actually is.

I'd wait a while with starting a Dark Eldar army since there are rumours that they will be included in a coming combined Eldar codex. Those who read rumours more than me may be able to give more advice
(besides, Adeptus Mechanicus are clearly cooler )
Nope, no way, never gonna happen.Originally Posted by Tubal

I would go for witch elves from the dark elves range. You like three in a blister for an reasonable price.
Seconded. I'd also like to clarify that the combined Eldar/Dark Eldar codex rumour came up at least 2 years ago when some nob at GW said that combining the DE and Eldar into one codex was a possibility, but also VERY UNLIKEY. This was later clarified a few months (weeks?) later by Gav Thorpe (amongst others) that this was NOT going to happen. Despite this, the rumour refuses to die after more than a year of constant nay-saying. (Originally Posted by Da Mighty Camel

Back on topic, I've heard of some people converting them from warriors, but that seems a little dodgy in my opinion.
Wood elf wardancers may make another decent substitute, but you still have the issue of them being expensive metal minis.
Maybe just look thorugh the plastics range form both 40k and fantasy. maybe something will attract your attention from that?

I have two unpainted Wyches that I might be willing to trade/sell to you, if that helps. It'll save you a bit of coin.
Converting Warrior plastics, maybe.
How about a kitbash?
All the suitable models e.g. Witch Elves you can use as Wyches are metal. However you could combine a squad of Warrior plastics with Dark Elf warrior plastics for a conversion. The problem with this again is the expense....probably as much as metal figures.

A bit of converting to make them more spiky and give me pistols or blaster and bam! your done.
