I have a fairly large pure grey knights army ('bout 2000 points) painted in the normal silver/ gold.
I have decided to re-paint my Grey Knights grey!
Any suggestions on a contrasting colours (or which shades of grey to use) would be great!
Codex/fortress grey would be a good base, with thier respective highlights. Red for details would look nice, maybe scab red with blood red highlights?
Pure Grey Knights
I think that maybe not the extreme highlights as they sometimes ruin a model (in my opinion). Maybe codex grey, fortress grey/codex grey 1:4 mix of codex and fortress.
Codex is a good base but use a dark wash as well. So you get some nice shades.
As for highlights I juts bled in more and more white until I think its looks good.
Red is a good color, so is greed and white. They looks good with gray.
If you are going grey I would start with a Codex Grey/Choas Black base, it is suitably nice and dark. Then start adding more codex grey before moving onto fortress grey and finally adding skull white in the mix for highlights. It will require blending to make it look smooth and does not use inking - too shiney.
