This is also in the dwarf forum but I thought a plain painting thread would benefit more, so here is my plan;
Build a dwarf army. No defined point size just what I like, well so far I have a list planned out to about 3500pts and this is the current look; And these are my current test schemes;Dwarf Lord
Runelord + Anvil Of Doom
Thane + Battle Standard
Two Bolt Throwers
Thoughts, comments etc.
apart from what i said in the chat the test 1 dwarfs arms highlight is abit too bright imo, makes it appear to be more of a new colour to the fabric than a highlight.
i find "water-thining"-painting works best of darker colours as they look more natural.

I like #3 the best.
Law of Logical Argument: Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.
i like one, its in harmony maybe Bone insteed of gold...
Number 2 and 3 Is also good although the colors don't match that great...
I might try some darker colors overall... They look... a little bit too happy, and not really like they just found the greenskins, and now wants to avenge the grudge...
critisism aside; You paint GOOD!!! I am so impressed!

Because its colors test I just comment on the colors them self.
This one is not bad the colors looks ok if you compare them to echoer. But it don’t have that, I don’t know what to call it, Total impression maybe. The colors just don’t give the right feeling.
This great, you have a very good look on this one. Its give a nice feeling. I know that the skirt is more blue then purple in real. So it can be the picture, but it look soft in the colors, pastel almost. Still hard to find words.
More of a classic dwarf for me. I like the colors. It looks good over all. It just don’t look that special.
I love the red bear. Its a good scheme except for the blue. It stand out from the rest a different blue and he is maybe a winner...
I think I like the second one most. There is a special shine about that one.
For me, personally, I'd go for number 4, but with all red instead of half red/half blue.
Of course, there's nothing stopping you from using each scheme for a different unit, or just having each unit with a variety of different colour schemes within it. And it would be fluffy, given that Dwarf throngs are esstentially citizen levies (just with insanly tough and skilled citizens).
I think I may do scheme three, as said it is good. But I will think on it, til the end of the week may be. But what about basing? I would like something that can look mountainous but a bit different - different material perhaps? Any ideas?
i like # 3 the most.
it flows more than any of the others
For basing you could have each model on a piece of slate, thus representing granite.
