I must admit, my painting skills are at this moment sub par. Yet I want a good looking necron army, not like the standard black undercoat, bolt metal dry brush. My question is has anyone seen a good looking necron army that lacks a lot of detail, yet is till impressive looking and not like every other necron army? Even just a color scheme. Thanks

Painting them Gold looks not too bad.

I've always wanted to paint them black, then highlight grey. Mmmmm.... dark colors...

Hmm, that gold idea seems pretty cool. Undercoat white, then gold, then what for the details?

Actually, use Brazen Bronze, then highlight with Burgen Gold (I think that's what it's called)

And you paint it black so all the details come out.

Well you could do the basic boltgun metal and use an ink wash to change up the color a bit, then it won't look so "normal."
