    Converting Grots

I just had an interesting idea for converting grots for Orks. Mainly I'd use Gnoblars (they look more runty than goblins) and give them a mix of cold war weaponry, mainly Ak-47s and such, and put them all in trenchcoats (greenstuff obviously). I think it would look rather interesting to say the least. All I need is a proper scale for the Aks. Any ideas for models I could use. (I know a few hobby stores that sell guns on their own for models, the only problem is finding enough AKs)

    Any comments or ideas?

Maybe use lasguns as an alternative?

Sounds cool, except that you use Gnoblars as I hate them (just look at their nose! It is TO big for an Grot!).
I would go with the lasguns as well, more money efficient. Of course, you gotta buy a large box of catachans to get the lasguns or trade some bits with a friend but I am sure it still will be cheaper.

*sigh* I suppose lasguns might be easier, course I could always convert them further. I just saw some models fo the rebel grots and it sparked the idea. Anyway, despite it all I like gnoblars, even with their huge nasal cavities, so i might use them yet.

On the upside I already have a pile of old secondhand catachans and a friend who plays guard. So lasguns will be easy to come by. I also have a fair amount of spare Marine bolters, So I can use the clip From the bolter to change the look of the lasgun.

Yeah just convert the lasgun to be an autogun.

Those will be funny, make sure you put pics up once you finish them.

A quiky to do a auto-weapon from lasgun and bolters: Cut off the barrel, attach a bolter barrel, cut off ammo-clip and attach bolter clip
My friend hav made one by doing that and it looks good.

I'll try to post pics when I get around to doing them (won't be for a while, i'm broke and don't have the gnoblars yet) Can't guarantee anything, since I don't actually own a digital camera.

Don't worry, I know the deal for that as well . You can probably borrow a cam from someone.

You could go with a more carbine/M16 look and bits order some necromunda gun sprues.
