Presenting: Sturm, my converted Bombardment Fex now painted! (Drang developed some problems on painting, so I felt it best to get my pictures of Sturm posted until I can fix things with his counterpart).
A front shot, this one came out a lot darker than I was expecting.
Side shot from Sturm's good side. I really like the way his Barbed Strangler came out.
A detail shot of the Barbed Strangler, and Sturm's impressive teeth.
Sturm's a little camera shy, but this one is a good shot of the minor modifications done to the Venom Cannon, and shows off Sturm's shiny black carapace.
A good shot of Sturm's muddy base, and the poor bolter-exploded Gaunt he's walking over.
And that's Sturm; post-painting. He hasn't seen combat yet, but it's only a matter of time.
My god someone has finally done it. I've always advocated black and purple on nids and I think it looks just bloody beautiful.

Ahhhh! That this a freaking monster (in a good way )! I wish that I could convert/paint that well.... I also love the paint scheme like Sabe said. The eye turned out just great, I can't wait to see your first oppponent's face when he sees that hing on the table.

That, looks dead mean. Very cool work mate, very threatening. I don't think I will be walking down any dark alleys for a while...
Beware the Agapanthers!
Codex Astartes: More a guideline than a rule...
Nice work. The base is a bit plain but Sturm looks really cool!
I thought about that, but it would have been way too big. The Barbed Strangler on his back is over five inches long and used almost an entire thing of greenstuff; so I settled on a bazooka-style "over the shoulder" model. While I would have liked to have an arm holding it from the other side, I wanted the Scything Talon on the right and the Venom Cannon on the left, since the barbed strangler would have otherwise made the 'Fex appear completely defenseless from close-combat attacks on the right. Since the Venom Cannon looked better with the second arm, the Barbed Strangler was regulated to a single arm and a large amount of fleshy things (which actually managed to avoid being photographed...) attaching it to the Carnifex's back.Originally Posted by Gareth
As for the base, it was intended to be plain, just a muddy field and a dead gaunt, so as to avoid drawing too much attention from the Carnifex (which is very dark, all around). Sturm is designed to be a bit nondescript (if you can believe that), it's his partner Drang who's going to wind up flashy and threatening. Sturm is "batman" to Drang's "robin", so to speak.
