Welcome to Librarium Online!
ok ok, I know I said I wouldn't post every single Guardsman I ever painted, but this guy is kinda special. My second squad Sarge and I painted him up for an online contest, killing two birds with one stone. I hope he does well.
Painting time was 6 hours, due to figuring out how to paint a backpack. bleh. I like how it turned out though.
It was a challenge to use the same head as my other sarge while making him look differently. I think I succeeded in giving him a much more weathered/bronzed appearance and positioning the head differently forced different highlights so he has a distinct look from my other sarge.
Now I can get back to painting the heavy weapon for my first squad!
Eventually I'd like to go back and paint some badges on the shoulder pads, I'm just not sure what yet. Any suggestions?

Well it's a website mostly dedicated to conversions... Sadly, I only heard about the competition one weekend before the deadline, so I only had 3 days. It's simple, but I like it. Besides, I wanted to paint something I could use for my army so I wasn't going to make him ultra crazy converted or anything. Entering him for the contest was just a bonus.Originally Posted by whiteshields1830

As for the badges, you are obviosly going to play an Cadian army? Check around the codex and the transfer sheets to get inspiration. If I remeber correctly, all the Cadian regiments share the same badge (that one that looks like a building of some sort), or is it only the Cadian 8th... hmm...
Otherwise, any variation of skull with wings works
Good job as always.

A question on the conversion work. From what I can see, you have taken the arm from the HW-sprue that is pointing, cut off the hand and replaced it with the hand from the standard cadian sprue. Am I correct?

"More cadian plastics"... I rather see them redo the cadian box to include plastic parts to do all the special weapons.
On top form once again, this is a nice miniature and as usual neatly painted. Not much to add truth be told, just a few things. I am unsure about the face, it maybe the angle but it looks not as good as the previous one. And to me the Chainsword looks out of place, like it was never suppose to be at that angle.
