Hey everyone, I figured I would contribute to this topic by posting about my conversion that is in process. I am building my Chaos army, and one of my HQ choices is a Lieutenant with Mark of Nurgle, Daemonic speed, a manreaper as the main wargear. (my idea being I will infiltrate and attack a flank first turn to tie some of my oponent's guys up.
I wanted to do a conversion to show the speed, so here was my idea, since it was nurgle, I wanted to give him sort of a pestillence type look, so I decided to give him some
centipede-esq legs. And, in this process, decided to name him Pestillus(yeah, I'm so creative). He is a project that will take some time to complete, but I wanted to get some feedback to see what people though t of this idea. When my sculpting is done, I will post pictures to get some more feedback.
It is quite hard to judge the quality of the conversion or even the idea from so meagre info. What legs are you intending on using, what body how will you make the Manreaper? Stuff like that will make it much easier to give constructive critisism.
Please return with some more info, looking forward on it.
I would really want some pics of this one. And as Andusciassus (curse your long and hard-to-spell name) already said, it will be a lot easier to give you some feedback on it then, altough the concept sounds good.
Andusciassus(I hope I spelled your name right), and Camel, thanks for your feedback. I will be putting some picture(s) of the work in progress as soon as I can manage it.
I completely forgot to put down what the base model was.
The starting material is Typhus, I chopped off his legs, replaced his left arm with a chaos powerfist upturned palm up(because I liked the way it felt almost as if he was taunting an oponent to come at him) The manreaper will be held in his right arm, pretty much unchanged(I clipped and filed off the other hand holding the weapon and fixed it with putty)
the major part of the conversion is building the centipede body completely from scratch. the legs for the body will be done with tyranid talon things. The image I have of him in my head is that he is a living vessel(hive) for all those creepy crawly nasty things that accompanies decay and pestilence. I modeled a bunch more of those tube like things that sticks out of Typhus' back around the body and will be putting little bugs, worms, centipedes and roaches crawling about him. So far, I've only got about 3 back plates of the centipede body done, as each plate takes a little under an hour to do, and I let it cure so I don't accidentally destroy it(as I have done already) by trying to model the next armor plate.all in all its coming along nicely in this early stage.
Like I said, I will post some pictures as soon as I can.
which brings me up to my next point.. how/where do I upload pictures to Librarium online so I can do this, or do I need to get a flickr account or some such?
Thanks for your feedbacks.
