I'm currently making a Space Marine fort, and 1 the things I'm gonna put in is some type of resting/sleeping area, I was wondering if anyone had any idea's as to what they sleep in/on etc
Precious few are born with it, fewer know what to do with it
I personally have the idea of them sleeping in kind of 'recharching stations' like robots in sci-fi, but maybe that's just silly.
Hell bent on twisting the rules of Inquisitor to my dark desires.Mod Edit -
Ignore this person. What a waste of perfectly good oxygen. There are kids in Antartica or China or Korea or some other country that would kill for the oxygen you are wasting with each passing minute.
Space marines themselves, actually do not sleep at all! They rather go into a state of half awareness, but I suppose that is kind of close to sleep. One chapter that I know of in particualr is the Blood Angels. Blood Angels sleep in a sarcophagus(vampires anyone?), and have their blood completely renewed before they wake. This is often attributed to the chapters relatively long lifespan. After all, Commander Dante is the oldest space marine, unless you count Dreadnoughts as living.
Et imperator Invocato Diabolus Daemonica Exorcist!
Not true. They have the ability to shut off half their brain but they do indeed sleep as it has proven to be more efficient. According to the old Codex they sleep about 4 hours a night when not in action.
I imagine their sleeping quarters would be much like monestary cells with a simple sleeping bunk and perhaps a small personal altar for meditation. So very simple and humble.
What BobaHat said tehy just 'Half' sleep. Well anyway I think of 'em as normalish beds with out pillows/sheets and comfort
It's been a minute.
I'd imagine them sleeping on big iron tables, kind of like the way the space wolves do, hehehe. A big stone slab.
dont space marines have chips in there brains that say they dont need sleep? but good idea anyway maby make it an ig baracks or something
If you read the 'Daily Rituals of a Space Marines' in the old codex it says that even though Space Marines CAN shut off half their brain it has proved more efficient to get real sleep whenever possible.
So Space Marines do sleep. End of that discussion!
they sleep on comfy, soft beds with pink blankets and fluffy pillows. They deserve a nice rest, after all they are the 'emperors finest'....they should be treated with the finest beds after all.

You forgot the teddy bear.they sleep on comfy, soft beds with pink blankets and fluffy pillows.
Marines do actually sleep, the half shutdown thing they do is only a last resort in a combat situation, like a siege, where there is little possibility of the attack letting up, or them being relieved.
