Welcome to Librarium Online!
Here are three Rough Riders of my Sister of Batlle Army. I have converted and painted them in an inquisitorial look. The modells are based on High Elv Silver Helms with some pieces of Kroot and bretonian Man at Arms.
The second picture shows an Black Templar Captain which I have painted to test the colourscheme of my 1000 Sons.
So please let me know what you think.
(C) by GW. Modells were painted by me.

These cavelry models are crazy and I love em. They capture the wierd gothic feel of WH40K like no other models I have seen before, straight out of a picture!
Well, they are good conversions and all but I'm not to overly in love with the sacred thingies on the horses heads. They look a bit to large, I think the horses would have quite some problems looking with those things on. Do the one he holds in his hand need to be pink? It's probaberly just me, but it makes the model a bit too "funny".
Other than that those Rough Riders are indeed nice. I like the heads and love their poses. An exelent choice of horses too.
The TS-colourscheme is also good, I like the Gold, you really made it look...goldish, though I'm not as glad for the green, I think it looks to much like the one on the GW-site (the UK's horrible, horrible "how to paint TS"). Other than that it's a nice paintjob and it's always nice to see another Sons player's work:yes:
I think the sacred tablets on the horses head work simply because of the whole gothic feel of the model which is consistant with the WH40K universe.
Very nicely done, love the conversions, cept for the tbale headed horse. No offence but it very impractical and looks real silly. And yes Berny while the tablets look Gothic, sticking them on a horses face doesnt make it look more gothic. Pleasedont take this offensivly its just some cc. Sometimes conversions just dont...work.
I like the idea of the tablets a lot; the over-the-top gothic quality of them fits nicely with 40k and I'm sure the practical problems of blocking the horses vision could be explained away somehow. However, to me the tablets look somehow... unbalanced, like they've been insecurly glued in place rather then properly secured. Maybe some sort of (more obvious) straps, clamps, etc?
As for the painting itself, the roughriders look good, though I agree with Andusciassus that the pink on the held relic thing seems a little odd and far too clean. The pink on the robes is nice though. In the case of the 1k Sons scheme you were testing, my personal feeling is that (dark) purple is a more appropriate Tzeentch colour then blue but I have no reason to back this up and blue fits with GW's colour scheme. Otherwise, I think it looks good (especially the absence of bright yellow).
Thousand Sons ~2750 points | Eldar ~1000 points
Tzeentch Daemons ~2000 points
So first thank you for your comments.
A few have said that the plates one the horses' heads are to big. I wanted that the horses aren' t just horses . I wanted to make them important to the riders so I put on that shields. The horses should be some kind of shrine to the riders and a tribiut to the Emperor. I know that the pink is a little bit strange but I like this colour a lot.
A few words about the 1000 Sons test scheme. I didn' t wanted to make them dark because most of the minis I have painted were dark. So I decided to paint my next army in lighter colours .
Very nice conversion on the rough riders. Me don't like pink.
Cool marine aswell.
Things go better with Petter

Those certainly are,...well, ...PINK!
The riders look better than the SM to me. His highlights seem too thick and "gloppy" ( I know that's not a word, but you get the idea of what I mean).
I also agree that the tablets on the horses heads look a little silly. Not to mention the fact that the poor horse would never be able to lift his head!
Quick! Somebody call PETA!
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
ha ha i've been toying with the idea of convertin riders from helms but you beat me to it... i suppose i could always go with the guard riding marine bikes.....
