I'm gonna paint my Tau drones, and I want a metallic color. I tried to mix Blood Red and Chainmail, and got a nice color I liked there, with a bit metallic look. Is there any other ways to make metallic colors? For example where you can make a color metallic without getting in the grey from teh Chainmail?
Maybe get some glitter and add it to the red?
red ink apied over a metal. then an mix of the metal, ink and maybe some of the actural red paint if nessisary
Ah, I guess the part of the Chainmail that makes it look metallic must be something like that. Just have to find a place to buy glitter
dont use glitter, whats in the paint is realy realy tinny peaces of mettal gitter will not work!
Errr...Maybe you're right, I'll rather try with ink on metal
I find that some color inks (like red) may work better over a gold versus a silver.
Vallejo makes a metal medium. It is basically the metal flakes without any tints. It is meant to be mixed with other colors to form your own metallics. It should be readily available wherever they sell their paints - online or via your local game store.
This sounds exactly like what you are looking for.
You might be able to find something similar in an art supply store.
That sounds just like what I need, yeah. Just hope I can find it in some store around here
If you can't find it in a local store - you will definitely be able to order it online.Originally Posted by dreamhacker
