Yes you read that right... dwarfs!
So my local gamestore is going to be starting Warbands on the weekend, and since I've never played Fantasy before I figured now would be a great time to learn.
I busted these little buggers out in just under 2 hours each. Since these guys will be stuck in the middle of a tightly packed unit, I obviously cut some corners! I'll be spending a little more time on my front rank and special models, but for the average footslogger, i'm happy with the time it took and the result. Static grass will be added to the bases when the entire unit's been finished, by the way. They all won't be this color/hair color either (they were assembly lined); the shields will however remain this scheme and unify the group.
Since painting my IG, I've developed a fondness for muted and gritty colors/schemes. These aren't going to be happy bright and cheery dwarfs that you normally find on GW's website. I wanted to capture the grim/gritty feeling I think the dwarfs embody.

I love them. Amazing that you painted them in 2 hours each.

Nice. Not to fond of the new dwarf-models but these fellas look cool and since they are your average footman they don't need to look better.
What is it you don't like about the new models? I'm not too familiar with the old models but these are pretty nice in my option, except for the lack of headpieces; even less to choose from than Cadians! The actual face sculpts I wish were a little more mean looking; they all look like their smiling rather than settling grudges. The shields take care of that for the most part though.Originally Posted by Da Mighty Camel
They have no exspresions, few unique bits and so on. And they have close to no converting-potential.
For quick painting they are amazing man, your quick minis look twice as good as my slowly painted "masterpieces"
Keep it up............

love them! and nice to see a more gritty looking Dwarf army (no i didnt say gritsuckers) when its all finished they are gonna look great- and keep up the speed painting, you need techniques like that to finish fantasy armies!
Definatly expand the army after youve played with the warband, ive seen your IG and with the skills you have at painting flesh a unit of slayers would look great
Please post the finished warband when its done! and tell us how you got on!

I like them. I wouldn't mind an army of dwarfs painted like that at all.
Safe as Clarts.
Very cool unit! It's amazing that you are that speedy with your painting! Maybe you are helped by the fact that they are about 1/2 as tall as a man
Great work as always!
Oh, and WOOT! 500 posts!
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
