I can never get a good antler looking color. That ivory beigeish color. Any tips on what layers to use?
base layer it snakebite leather. Then apply a layer of bubonic brown. Then Hilight with bleached bone. Try to leave some snakebit leather and bubonic brown showing at the connecting parts to give it that antler looking painting. Takes practice but not too hard to learn and add a alil white at the end of the antlers to give it a shine.
Also try a thin glaze of white over the final bleached bone. It gives a sort of 'luminescence'(sp?) that ivory has. use thinned white and paint it on as a thin layer but without pooling like an ink.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
