Can anyone help me and tell me how to paint yellow on models. I've tried a few times and the all turned out really bad post back and tell me you tips please!!!!
Dnt judge my judgments plz
Its not my fault, blame some other guy
Well if its on a black under coat there are a few things you could do.
1) Mix some white in with the yellow to help it set (then apply a few layers of yellow after that).
2) Paint on a layer of scorched brown (effectively using it as a base) and put the yellow on top.
3) Use a white undercoat
4) Just be patient and apply loads of thin layers of yellow.
Use a white undercoat. Never prime yellow minis in black. It just doesnt work. Yellow is a difficult colour to do but with a little practice and patience it will work.
First tip, whereve possible, undercaot white.
water down the yellow paint, but be prepared to do several layers of each colour to stop brush strokes from comming through
If you use drybrushing or blending, start with yellow/orange and work through to a mix of yellow and white.
Finish with one or more weak washes of yellow ink
Everything you have been told is a lie!
I do golden yellow over fiery orange on a white undercoat. Looks good.
For a bright yellow, I made sure to paint any areas to make yellow as a solid white (several thin coats), then used watered down Bad Moon Yellow (1:1) and painted that on top of the white areas. Makes for a very smooth, very bright color.
