I have a small batch of test marines built for painting purposes, but I really like how the sargent came out. Usesparts from the iron hands box: the legs and the arm, anf of course the Iron Hands shoulder pad. Not a great deal of converting, hardest part was the right arm which needed 3 seperate parts.
I guess I'm putting it here cause atm its my favorite model.
Oh, and he now has a chain sword from the cadian range in his hand. I decided that would look better AFTER I spent a long time carving out the fist so it looked more relistic (not easy to see in the pic).
well here he is:
Looking good so far. There are a lot of bitz out there can really augment Iron Hands conversions.
Just a few are:
Deathwatch heads and bolters
Techmarine head/torso from the vehicle accessory sprue
Techmarine bodies (Jes Goodwin sculps)
Techmarine poweraxe from old Command Squad Techmarine
Techmarine torso/axe from the Blood Angels Honor Guard
Arm from the Iron Warriors Wasmith
There are so many bitz that can be used to convert Iron Hands it is really mind-boggling.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip on the dw stuff tho. Umm servitor arms work nicely(power fists, etc), techpriest enginseer bitz, servo arms from about anything, and some other stuff, but I've forgoton what else I have. Best IMO is the stuff in the IH box, tho I do think a whole army with all the same stuff could get a bit...boring. So thats why I'm gonna be adding lots of gitarwire and full bionic replacement, thanks in part to your models bannus. Keep up the good work.Originally Posted by bannus
Glad to help.
The Jes Goodwin sculpts are the 2nd-3rd edition Techmarines (that require a plastic left arm to complete). The Command Squad Techmarine is also a Jess Goodwin scupted. They are among my favorites - making these minis the centerpieces of an army helped me decide to build an Iron Hands army..
I used a servitor arm on a Terminator, but I think they might be a bit big for one in power armour - but I could be wrong.
Looks awsome. I want to see him with a good paintjob. :w00t:
Things go better with Petter

I'm using a smaller one I belive, from the newer servitors.Originally Posted by bannus
