Aiight, so my idea for a nid army was doing them all in an "Aliens" color scheme, where they would be a high gloss black (probably just plain chaos black w/varnish) or should I get a few inks and highlight.
Because I'm currently in debate on what army I want to start next, if this would look alright, I'd go with it, because my other idea was doing 'crons with a terminator style color scheme/conversions.

i was thinking aobut doing nids, but the color scheme i was planning on doing was a all blood red body with blazing orange plates. thein i would highlight the red with orange and the orange with yellow

The all black Aliens colour scheme sounds cool to me.. Base them with black and highlight with a drybrush of Bleached Bone. Finally give them a nice coat of really shiny gloss varnish.
This would be awesome! Perhaps you could add some feignt highlights of purple too...
Good luck! Sounds like a simple and awesome colour scheme!
Remember that the best colour schemes are not always the most complicated.
So far as the gloss black aliens go, get yourself two or three ink pots and glaze everything. Glaze different broods in different colors for variance, or just do everything in deep blue ink. That, imho, will give you an even sleeker look for the gloss black.
