Welcome to Librarium Online!
Just thought I'd post a couple of shots of my Dwarfs for my Warband. Been really busy lately and don't have much time to paint, but being able to squeeze in a couple hours a night or so, I managed to finished this up in a little over a week and a half.
Just good old fashioned table-top standard gaming pieces. They may not win beauty contests, but they get the job done.
Cover area entirely with Chainmail or Brazen brass.Originally Posted by Marvus
Mix 2 parts blue ink and 3 parts chestnut ink with a lot of water. Experimentation is required here. The color should be that of motor oil almost, not too brown, and definitely not too blue. Add a drop or two of white glue, mix well.
Librerally cover the metal parts with the mixture, but within reason. (I use the same mix for both my silver and gold to save time.)
Lightly drybrush the silver parts with Mithril Silver and the gold parts with Shining Gold, dust the gold parts with Mithril Silver after drybrushing Shining Gold.
If the drybrush looks too "drybrushy" after you've done the final step, thin down your previous mixture even more and wash the parts that need touching up.
Same goes with beards, if you drybrush beards like me - after your final drybrush, take your base coat, thin it way down so it looks like colored water, add a little white glue and wash the parts - it gets rid of most of that "drybrush" look.
Hope this helps!
wow...best dwarves ive ever seen. However, just to pick something out (its just a small thing), i dont like the couple of red beards there. 1 is fine for the leader, but two or more makes the redbeards stand out too much. At first glace the ones i first looked at were the red ones, which detered me from the others (which are equally well painted btw). But hey, thats probably just me.

Like I said before.. very nice. I have had a few problems with them but you know what they are, so lets not go into them. A great unit and above average painting, nice work.
Extremely well done.

This is very good for a rank-and-file, I like!
..but I want to see more of your Imperial Guard.
They look very nice, but I think they might have a hard time hitting anything with their eyes closed like that. I can't tell if you simply didn't paint the eyes (I don't on my R&F though, so I'm not bashing by any means... I like it when people do things the same way I do ) or if they're too small/subtle for the photograph to pick them up. Good job.
You play your game, I'll play mine.
