Everything you have been told is a lie!
Dodge, if you are going to get a dremel, get the big box of stuff for it, it runs about 30 USD but has pretty much everything you need for any application. If its available I would also suggest the power cable tip as well, it allows you to hang your dremel up upside down, and use a smaller stylus tip, and not make you hold the weight of the dremel up which comes in handy for precision work.
This is pretty much what I'm talking about:
Could anyone recommend a particular kit?
As in a complete kit for models...like that 395/390 ?
Honestly if you are just purchasing your dremel for the first time I would get this
BE CAREFUL WITH PLASTIC, use LOW SPEEDS.. you will vaporize your plastic models by overworking them with a dremel.
Slow speed, ultra fine grit, or use the polishing tools.
