I'm getting together an SM army that has an urban warfare theme throughout it. Hence, I have a lot of scouts, assault squads and vindicators. My main question here is about;
How I can best convert a vindicator, to make it look appropriate for urban warfare?
My chapter is called the Royal Phoenix Chapter and their colours are red with gold edging, not exactly, the most inconspicuous! Basically, they've been forced to fight house-to-house by an invasion on their home planet. The scouts in the army have gold armour with white trousers.etc, no red.
I'm currently thinking of netting.etc on the tank, but where can I get this kind of stuff from, and has anyone any better ideas on how to make it fit into the theme of my army?
Thanks to anyone who does reply and help,
YOu could use the stuff from Orange bags. Its plastic and looks like netting when you layer it on each other. You could use a mesh misquito(sp?) netting.

Camo Netting can also be made from gauze - medical gauze 4"x4" squares (found in Walmart, or drugstore/medical home supply) and spray painted /dyed. Consider also that an urban scene may also reduce tracked vehicles ability to move, but maybe not wheeled...I've seen some great chimera conversions with large Wheels, why not consider a Rhino converson with wheels? Mini tracked vehicles (remember Saving Private Ryan?) or adapted Technicals (local modified vehicles) could help as well. Just a thought.

Hmm the stuff from a bag of oranges??? If youre hungry you can eat the oranges whilst puting the mesh on the vindi!
Netting from gauze bandages is good. Also, I would consider putting some rubble and dust across the tank. Have a look at how some German assault vehicles operated in WWII, such as the Brumbar and the other fixed gun vehicles whos name I can't pronounce let alone spell!
I like the fluff you are using.

Use cheese cloth. (I got mine at Ace Hardware) Cut right amount and soak in an elmers glue water mix. Let dry and paint.

Thanks guys, they're all really useful tips, I hate oranges though, so expect to see some up for offer in the trade section after I've bought all those bags!
Anyone got any ideas on things I could do other than netting, the rubble idea was cool...
