Welcome to Librarium Online!
Since I'm starting a Daemonhunters army (I'm still investigating background and stuff like that) I was thinking about making them special.
I also like the minis from Rackham (sorry if this is not tolerated on this board?) and I'm thinking about a nice conversion idea.
First, on to some pictures...
Now imagine them with swords replace by Nemesis Force Weapons and the shield replaced by on-arm mounted stormbolters.. Of course, other minor conversions should be added, like backpacks, purity seals, ... but I think it could be cool?
I know Rackham minis are a bit larger than GW ones, but I don't think that's really a problem, since Grey Knights can in my opinion be a little taller than regular troopers.
I would like some opinions on this idea and critique on my thoughts. Maybe this is just crazy or impossible to do or maybe those minis just don't fit the idea behind the Grey Knights or maybe they are way too different from the "regular" Space Marine type mini?
I also have a second idea; one that is probably a little easier on the "does not really fit the style of GW" as it are ideas on more "special character"-like minis:
1. A nice model for an Inquisitor if you ask me:
2. Another nice Inquisitor candidate, a female even, so that's what I would like for my Inquisitor:
3. Finally; another nice Inquisitor candidate, maybe even a GK hero or something:
So; what are your thoughts about this? I must say, I haven't seen any comparison between Rackham and GW minis, so I have no idea if the sizes differ much, but if I recall correctly, Rackham makes them in 30mm and GW in 28mm, so that doesn't seem to be much, but maybe it is when you see it on the battlefield?
All comments are welcome!
"Victory needs no explanation, defeat allows none."
The first three minis would make cracking Grey Knights; you wouldn't even have to replace the swords since Nemesis Force Weapons can be anything from halberds to a baseball bat (well, within reason ), as long as you give the Justicar a different weapon from his troopers for the sake of keeping him unique (although again, that isn't strictly neccesary as long as you mark him out in some fashion ). You could even use this mini
As your Justicar; don't think he'd be great as a Hero because he isn't chunky enough, but as a Justicar he'd stand out well with the robes and stuff .
As far as the two suggested Inquisitors go they'd both be really good IMHO; the first one looks like Torquemada and the second one just looks like menace incarnate . Love that mask ^^. You probably wouldn't even need to convert either, just throw a few =][= symbols, purity seals and whatnot on them and change their weapons to suit ^^.
