Hey guys, I'm making a rather hilarious conversion for my chaos lord. He's going to be riding a chaos dragon, but I decided that I couldn't be bothered to spend $50 on an outdated model. Anyway, I went to ebay, and bought myself a Hydralisk model from Starcraft. It sticks to my roots as a SC nut, and looks great.
The problem though, is that it's HUGE. This fellow is probably 2x the size of a normal dragon, and I need some wings that would fit him. Any suggestions?
The Hierarchy Chaotica: Kinky Sex > Change > Disease > Blood
98% of the population actually believes these stupid statistics. If you're part of the 2% of humanity with a brain, put this in your profile.
If you want some huge wings I'd say make them.
It's not as hard as it might seem, not if you go for the Bat-version anyway.
You can make the "skeleton-fingers" from old sprues or whatever sticks you think fit. As it's going to be a Chaos-dragon he can rely on evil magic to fly, so you can make the "skin-parts" inbetween torn. Use PVA-dipped paper-strips for them. If this is done proper you'll have a huge pair or evil wings for near nothing.
Does anybody know where i can buy Starcraft models? Would be great to use as tyranids.
Never fear, St. Jimmy is here...
Bloodthirster wings might be large enough. I know that they're bigger than normal dragon wings and look huge on a Hive Tyrant where dragon wings look good. I'm not sure how big the wings need to be for your model though, maybe a picture with another model or something for scale purposes would help.
Well a wire frame covered in paper mache makes good wings, the Zombie Dragon in UKWD316 was done this way.
Balrog wings are big, and plastic, so no need to pin them.
They look quite good.
