Hi, I'm starting a new Chaos Space Marine army and I've come up with a colour scheme using the Dawn of War army painter. The main colour is a deep purple with red shoulder pads and silver trimming. My question is - what citadel paints should I use for the base colour and highlights (I'll be undercoating in chaos black)? Thanks for the help.

If you are using citadel paints I would basecoat with at least 2 coats of liche purple, with mids of 1:1 liche purple and warlock purple then the highs can be straight warlock purple on just the highest points..
Might want to look into the vallejo model color line as well.. they have a lot of differing purple shades...
If going for purple, I would use a base of blue and purple or black and purple - make it dark then mix in more and more purple until you get the desired shade. I find liche purple is hard to get to cover well and is much easier to gradually build it up.
The red I would go for scab red to red gore and blood red for highlights.
Thanks for the advice, I'm off to buy some paints!
