I know that there's a good thread on making water at the mo, but that not quite what i'm after.
Has anyone got any good tips for making waves? I'm currently basing all my 1/1200 Napoleonic ships (they're gorgeous btw !) and want to model waves for the base.
I was thinking of mixing filler with water and alot of PVA, then dabbing or stippling it onto the base to give the impression of choppy water. I know how to paint water, just not sure if this method will work on 1/1200 scale waves!
As a basic use woodland scenics realistic water, then model waves using woodland scenics water effects, try the WS site, they have a number of good videos
Everything you have been told is a lie!
use hot glue and shpae it like its a wave, before you do this paint the base blue and it will look fantastic
crumpled up tin foil, and lay it on the top, i'm not quite sure if this would work very well, it might work really good for ripples.
