I'm new to Tau playing, (been a SM/IG guy) and love the Crisis Suits. I been studying the Heavy Metal Team's works in WD316. Particularly Fil Dunn's and Neil Hodgson's on page 74 (I cant post the pics for obvious Copyright reasons). Fil's red suit makes use of the standard head as part of the jump pack - making it beefier (IMO). I love that idea as I'm not too crazy about the smallish vent setup on the backside. I realize he didn't modify the vents, but the making the pack beefier is sweet. Any other ideas on how to Beef up the suits structurally? (I also love the mirrored look that Neil made - wicked sweet!)

Maybe using plasticard layering on the sides? Make the head smaller, by using the target lock (p 74, same pic) to make him look bigger overall. Then check the o'shavah good or bad thing in GW site, and use the scarab body idea from that.

I especially love the one conversion of the SM getting a facefull of Crises Suit foot, that HAS too hurt.
If you beefed it up, you could try using the broadside feet and use green stuff on the shins of the suit as it would give it a more rienforced look.
