I want/need a good flying base for a forgeworld thunderhawk gunship. I need it to be small enough to fit into the case I keep the thunderhawk in (29" x 17" X 13.5") and I want it to look fairly nice on the table as well as keep the dang model stable.. and the stand needs to be removable from the model.
you may be able to use 2 or 3 or so large flying bases to give it ample support
It is my sacred duty to save your soul from the Dark Gods of Chaos... and I willsave your soul, even if you die in the process.
you could use a circle of 1/16" thick hard board with 2 or so flying base poles or small dowels. i think that would work, and ytou could decorate it too.(like a whole box of chaos marines cut up to look dead, or your prefered enemy)
I would go with 3) 1/4" dowels. Build the base out of apoxi resen set the dowels in it and build up the area around the dowels. That way the dwels will not come out. Then drill three holes for your dowels in the inderside of the Thunderhawk. This way you can make the size of the base as big as you want.
