you just BROKE the bank? sounds like you took off the roof, waterproofed it, filled it with nitroglycerin, and did a cannonball in it. honestly, you broke it into a million pieces and lit it on fire.
well, that is ebnough. i would say, buy some brown ink. start off with a light brown coat for the recesses, then go to bleached bone, then go to a final highlight of skull white. my 2 cents, but i have never painted them. chest eagles are good for learning, in my opinion.
HOLY CR@P! That's a TON of termies! I can hardly get my head around that much work!
As far as painting them up, there are a couple of options. I believe that GW makes a "Bleached Bone" spray can, which would quickly put on your basecoat (over a white primer, I think would be best). Then you just paint on the other colors, wash with thinned brown( or chestnut) ink, and highlight up to skull white.
Just an idea. I've never painted a DW mini. Ask Cheredanine, he has a lot of DW models.
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
For the last time, there are
NO FEMALE SPACE MARINES!!!!!
hah, i beat you to the punch, but anyways, the spray is a god idea, but if you want them to look really good, start with abrown. it isn't that hard to do a highlight in 4 steps, but getting it to look good is. have a good time, and take your time, or you will get sick of the deathwing.
If you figure out something let me know lol, I have 60+ termies sitting in a box...
generally there are 2 ways to paint DW, or rather 2 looks to go for: White or bleached bone, when I say white I dont necessairly mean pure white, but the overall look. MYself I went for the latter:
(there are more in my gallery)
but then my DW are Angels of Absolution, not Dark angels.
The next Q is are you trying to paint 100+ terminators quickly or trying to make them look good, the stuff above is more about speed than anything else (makes sense with that many to paint), on average my termies you see have 20-30 coats on the armour, clearly takes time, but is effective
Everything you have been told is a lie!
