i need some help using photoshop

I am building a 4'X8' Game table and it has a Crystal Filed in it and i have resin crystals i have made on it.

i cannot decide what color to paint the crystals and was looking for someone that was good with adobe photoshop to see if they could come up with some color combinations

i want to stick with the solid base color and highlightthe edging in a lighter color. even like the black with green trim like the necron codex or other colors of black with a colored trim.

the gound will be browns so you will need to take that into consideration.
here are a couple pics of the crystal clusters, pick something and go from there if you will help out.

i dont know how to use photoshop and i dont have a copy either, but i know it can me used to make nice pics for ideas like this.

    Steve

Holly Potato - this is a great looking table! Can I pleeeeease come over and play when you are finished

Well, I probably live to far from you to really do it, but it looks to be a promissing piece of work! Lucky you to have so much space to work in and keep it in...

As far as colors, black/green, dark green/light green, blue/light blue combos seem to be most used I think... I myself would like them with black/green and I think that any color will actually work with brown base - brown seems to accept any reasonable combination, besides, these cristals will look like piercing the ground, so they do not really have to match the general color of the table...

I'm starting to think the rest of the terrain should reflect the origins of the crystals. If the crystals are volcanic in nature, the earth should be rocky. If they're from a meteor shower a few more impact craters would do well. Icicles need arctic snowfields etc...

if the ground would be brown i would suggest purple crystals, base colour of purple+ black, then highlight with liche purple, then liche purple + bleach bone/white.

do you play chaos? wait, you play orks, don't you? i would go with a dark red to red scheme, because you could mark them as take and hold objectives, or to see who can destroy them first. my.02 laugh to your hearts content. i'll join.

These are pretty rough, as I've only got a few minutes, but here are a few of the combos described above, all with the brown ground as you mentioned.

sorry for the terrible quality of the fill-ins, but like I said, I've only got a few minutes online at a time to goof off

Red would look better coupled with the brown surface. But hey, it is an alien planet.

Oh, I forgot to mention, cool table! I really like the idea of purple crystals, painted as you described - near black bodies with the edges in really livid purple (ala necron style)
