Well, this sounds really expensive and awesome! What you do, is take off the tracks of the LRC-LR or cover them up with GS or something, to make it look smooth. make the doors able to move and possibly convert the front door to some bunker door. Take away the lights and also anything that makes it look tank-like, make some sand and some grass slightly overlapp the edges of the land raider on the graound to make it look as though it is or was there for a while. Paint it either grey or silver and make it rusty and as bland as possible, also take off any chapter signs ( unless you dont want to of course). Basically try to take off anything that makes it look tank-like (Ie:motor, lights etc) you should be ok!

i was thinkin of not removing all tank like parts to keep some of the feel but i was thinkin of leaving one or so of the top mounted weapons and allowing models inside to fire it at like BS 2 or something like that with a gets hot for of rule frying the model that fired it

This sounds very expensive(!) and a cool idea.

However, I considered that maybe you could make a bunker out of plasticard, then use the bits from a landraider to adorn it. Making sure you use magnets, thus getting a Land raider and a snazzy bunker at the same time, due to interchangability.

I wouldn't suggest it, it seems that your ruining a perfectly good tank. Also there are MANY other materials you can make bunkers out of. Just what im thinking...

While i can see where you are coming from and i agree it would be cool, thats £35 for a tank that you are going to destroy and not use. Maybe if u just buy the hull sprue? Or build a hull and buy the weapons.

Sadly, I purchased a Land Raider Crusader, 2 Tactical Squads, 1 Terminator squad, a rhino, and a Force commander around 4 years ago BEFORE I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING OR HOW TO PAINT GD CALIBER. So, I have a rather large and pricy bits box. I really don't see any way of turning the LR into a good bunker, and have already incorperated it into my Imperial Snow Palace gaming table as a nice piece of cover (along with the a wrecked Rhino, and a TON of dead marines all over).

    Simple Bunker

First you take LR and put teeny-weeny sand bags on eachs side right in front of the side lascannons, and add bits everywhere make it look hurried with pits and holes infront of it to look like trenches or artillery holes and walla! You have an easy ork or makeshift Imperial Bunker

I just had a thought. SM usually recover their vehicles where possible so there is not much chance that a LR would be used as a bunker. However if you were to open i up and build some kind of shrine then that would be cool. I remember a story where a wrecked rhino was turned into a battlefield shrine.

Get a cheap, badly-painted Land Raider off ebay and use that!
