    Is everyone a Games Workshop only person? I mean do any of you have other miniatures from different companies other than the big Games Workshop? I recently have looked at others, many are either superior or just as good as Games Workshop in their sculpting and looks. Just wondering what others think, got any? Considered them? Don't know where to look?

    Personally I have a few from other places, namely Reaper, Rackham and Dark Sword and they are great. The looks of them are really great, some have intergrated bases though - not sure on those yet while others are smaller seeming dispite being the same size as Games Workshop.

    Here are some links to sites or stores to show you what I mean;

    Personally its the GW fluff that draws me to certain minis. As i don't know anything about other models backgrounds and fluff i haven't been interested in trying out anything but gw.

    The only thing i fancied doing was the starship troopers stuff. Because i love the 1st film and i like my sci fi... But i doubt i will try them out. I got nids and i can always start guard right?...

    So i guess my ignorance is holding me back from trying out other manufacturers. Either that or they've failed to impress me as much as GW have.

    I loved my airfix planes when I was little and had them hanging all over my ceiling. Those were some lovely models. A little bit fiddley, but lovely smooth lines and some great detail.
    I still have a Sopwith camel that I'm rather fond of.

    Myself apart from Games workshop i have Reaper Minis (espeacilly the female Vampires much better than the Games Workshop ones) and a whole load of Rackham models. Rackham are probably better sculpted than games workshop and i prefer the female models that reaper does compared to games workshop.

    Forgot to mention i also have some Tactical Minatures Models as they do some nice sculpts for police swat etc.

    I have two Rackham mini's which I think are great. They are very well sculpted and to me seem like more suited to painting rather than gaming.

    Apart from that its all GW...........

    I started on Ral Partha and I was so sad to see them go. In my hunt for new minitures to paint I stumbled on GW. I collected various models just to paint. Have had the basics of SM army for two years before I actually played a game. I'm still on the lookout for Ral Partha originals though.

    I will paint pretty much anything that comes my way. I used to paint all kinds of stuff (mainly fantasy for Dungeons and Dragons). As of late it has been just about all Games Workshop stuff. I have painted a few confrontation figures. I really like their undead, dirz, and the dwarves of mid-noir. In the near future I want to pick up some Warmachine stuff. I am interested in playing it after playing a demo at gencon last year.

    Cheers,

    I have painted some female reaper minis, I much prefer them to GW scuplts in terms of painting. However the rest of my stuff is GW.

    I really want to find a reliable UK supplier though(Website or shop), other than just ebay.
