I'm just wondering, do any of you have specific techniques that you use for painting necrons? For example, to get the funny symbol on the chestplace of the warriors, or make them look rusty, or... etc.

Necrons are best done WITHOUT drybrushing! I'm painting my Necrons Dwarf Bronze and I go over the 2 times before I do details.. I highlight the symbols with white and it looks fine.. I'll post a pic when I get the digital camera..

For my necrons I usally paint the under parts with boltgun metal, and not worry about getting them on the upper plating, which I then go over with Scab red, I then pick out the details carfully, drybrushing over the chest icon with red, now for Rust which I usally save for destroyers and such, I use a bit of red ink in a small area and then dry brush blood red over it, not a whole lot though, and it gives it a little rusted tint.
