Welcome to Librarium Online!
Bein totally new to painting miniatures and to Warhammer 40k (and this forum), I am stumped on what color scheme would look the best on my space marines. With only having these colors....
and some Black Ink.
I just want to know what you all think would look the best. I am unable to buy any new paints right now so i have to make the most with what I got. So give me your ideas! I dont care what your oppinions are! Lets hear em!
Hmmm regal blue would look good with side of shoulder pads and guns boltgun metal.
It could be your own chapter
Yea i got a question about making your own chapters. How duz the point vlaue system thing work? Isn it different for every chapter? What rules apply to a custom chapter? I kno this is probley a real noobie question but cant change what i am
Im going to have to go with the blue and silver but you should get some black and go with yellow and black or blue and black

Regal Blue undercoat.
Succesive mixes of Regal blue and Ultramarine blue so it is shaded.
Weapons: Panels: Blood Red. Other: Boltgun, drybrush Chainmail.
Henceforth no man shall set foot upon the world, and all around shall be set sentinals to ward away unwary spacecraft. We must accept that this place is lost to us forever, and is now the eternal habitation of abomination.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>another annoying thing i hate: 47,000 similies in one post. just thoght id throw that in there and see if anybody else hates it as much as i do.</div>
You got Ultramarines Blue so why not go with the Ultramarines paint scheme?
It's not Raymond Luxury Yacht, It's pronounced throat wobbler mangrove.

My elvish name is Maeglin Meneldur.
I would go with the regal blue undercoat, succesive dry brush mixing in Ultramarine blue until can highlight in Ultramarine blue alone.
weapons - with boltgun metal and then do a wash of 50/50 black ink - water. Then highlight use a bit of Chainmail to highlight edges (drybrush it if you like).
weapons panels - red then highlight edges with 50/50 red-yellow finish with wash of 50/50 black ink-water.
Honours, eagles, eyes, and raised edges of shoulder pads- with red, then succesive striplings of red/yellow mix until you can highlight edges with yellow. (this will give you a orangy-yellow effect over all; but if you do 3-4 striplings then they will become a nice yellow edge)
Honour scroll strips - boltgun metal, hgihlight edges with chainmail, add some writing with fine lines of black ink.
WOW, you will have created an Ultramarine, not exactly as shown in Codex, but pretty close. Good luck and check out some of the painting tip sights for tricks and ideas. you could also view some galleries for colour scheme ideas other thatn the ones suggested by my brotheren.
PS, I have to ask; why can you not access any other paint colours?
I would do red color for the armor, with black shoulder pads and chinmail rims on the pads. you might want to swap the pad colors.
