Can anyone suggest a way to add wings to ripper swarms? The forgeworld ones are pretty expensive (big surprise there). I was thinking of taking a walk through toys'r'us and trying to find some toys with plastic wings that I could clip if no one has any better suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
I gave my Vespidwings to my fellow Tyranid player hwo used them for thr rippers, (I not specially fond of the wings accept the big ones the Strainleader had...
I also gave some of them to a fellow Chaos player, he is planning on converting some Raptors which im very curious to see how they turn out.
I'll try to throw up some pics when i get my hands on a good digi camera.
Remember remember the fifth of November... Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason... Should ever be forgot...- = Always watching = -
You could use the ripper jack models. Search the online store for ripper jacks. The models look a whole lot like ripperswarms but have the legs made into wings. Those are expensive though.
What you could do is use scything talons and add a membrane to them to make a small wing. Wings for rippers do require some work just because they are an odd thing.

That scything talon idea sounds quite good, the only problem is that you don't get any spare on the hormagaunt sprue! *throws dark look at GW symbol*
You could use the genestealer ones if you don't have them with scything talons, I think it's too many points for them anyway. I used these for the lower set of scything talons for my leaping tyranid warriors, although you may think them too small it does work.
The Night Lords Hero Wings may be the right size for the rippers. They look nice and leathery and appear to be the right size. I havn't tried them myself though, so I cant say for sure.
There's also the option of taking the FW winged rippers though they are the most expensieve choice, but als the best looking.
