I got myself a few Ratling Snipers but im not sure what colour scheme to do them, I have done the rest of my army in standard fatigues, but unsure what to do the snipers in......any ideas?
Most real-life battlefield snipers will be camo'd up to the nines with leaves and vegeation posibly with cargonetting to cover up the gun barrel. The aim of camoflage for a non moving person or object is simply to break up any straight lines. Also they would have no bright insignia or reflective badges or buckles.
For 40k not all this is nessecary but a cool base adds more than just bits stuck to the model...See pic..
These are in a light brown camo scheme which fits in with the terrain. Basically try and blend your snipers into the terrain you play on most. If youve used any dark colours on the rest of your army carry them through onto your snipers to keep an aire of continuity to your army and just change the lighter colours of your current colour scheme to darker ones better suited to snipers.
I always liked seeing mine run around in those red and black logger sweaters! lol
As their uniforms kind of look like those from the american civil war i used colors similar to those of the Union soldiers, but it would depend on how much you want your army to have similar colors (I see Ratlings as quite independent and not likely to adhere to Imperial Guard standards).
thanx for the replies stretch and 999ups, that will give me something to work on
