I have just sorted out my paint scheme for my new IG army, but am not sure about how to do faces. I have seen loads of tutorials, mentioning various paints, but they all seem totally different.
Basically im trying to do a fairly tanned skintone, but not one making the model look sunburnt or tired. I want him to look as though he is ready to go to war, without modelling the face
Preferably I would be using Vallejo Paints from nugaming.com.

If you are planning on using the game color line - I would start with dark skintone and mix in dwarf skin, using elf skin as the lightest highlight. This will give you are darker skintone.
For most of my skin I usually start with dwarf skin and highlight up to pale flesh.
really depends on what kind of look you are going for.

I agree with slorak on this one. After some experimenting with VGC I have found that dark skintone really does give you a great base colour for your skin, working up to elf fleshtone through dwarf. A couple of glaze's of grey for the stubble and you are away in a hack......
